Complaints

We aim to provide a quality education for all our children and we are continually trying to improve our provision in order to benefit children’s learning.  We therefore hope that few parents will have cause to complain.  We would love to hear from you when things are going well.

Should any parent have a complaint or concern, do please contact the school as soon as possible.  Most concerns are resolved simply and effectively through discussion between parents and the child’s class teacher.  Ideally, parents should contact the school, express their concern and make an appointment with the class teacher.  It might be necessary to see the Head of Key Stage.  With matters of a serious nature or those requiring immediate attention, the Headteacher or Deputy will usually be available at short notice.

There are formal procedures for dealing with complaints about the school as required by the 1996 Education Act.  These include complaints about admissions, charging, the curriculum and assemblies.  Complaints about any of these areas should be made to the Headteacher in the first instance who will normally be able to resolve any difficulties.  If you feel that your complaints are not being handled satisfactorily, you can refer the matter to the school’s governing body.  You should direct your correspondence to the Chair of Governors, c/o the School Office.
