There is a Millbrook Combined School and Nursery registered charity called The School Fund. We would like to explain the School Fund to you and briefly describe its purpose.
This fund is vital to us and we depend on your donations. It enables us to pay for additional activities that brighten and enhance school life or provide subsidies to keep the cost to parents down to a minimum for activities throughout the year.. These activities range from the incidentals such as cooking ingredients, music for Christmas concerts and performances, to major projects such as building new outdoor teaching areas and developing our planned environmental zone.
Many of you may ask, “Education should be free- why pay extra?” Sadly the school budget we receive from Bucks County Council does not cover the large number of extra events, projects and activities that we provide. The additional activities that we supply are an important part of each child’s experience. Our teachers select and plan these activities carefully to support the curriculum and enhance learning, adding extra colour and richness to school life.
We welcome any donation, whether private or through fundraising events. A small donation can make a difference and we are grateful for any donation received. If you would like to donate on a regular basis, the best way of making your contribution count is by the completing a Direct Debit Mandate with Giftaid declaration which can be obtained from the school office. Giftaid could add an extra 20% onto our income. Alternatively, send your contribution in a sealed envelope with your child’s name, class and School Fund printed on the front. Payments may be made in either cash, cheque payable to Millbrook Combined School Fund.
